Their first location was opened in Dallas in 1982.
The name itself was uniquely decided through a coin toss, leading to Dave’s name preceding Buster’s in Dave & Buster’s. Seeing how customers kept going from one to the other and the massive success of both, the two opportunistic men decided to open a new place combining entertainment and food. The combination of the two names comes from the real names of Dave, who owned a gaming arcade, and Buster, who owned a restaurant nearby.
